Shattered Dreams.

Rotten meat sold in the shops

Who can request for toothpicks these days?

Candy stores are closed

People are suffering from tooth decay.

Heaven has lost its eye

Now how will we make hay?

No one wishes to face the blackboard

Teachers are the first to play.

The backbone of our crown is damaged

But the King refuses to go for an X- ray

Our castle doors are never locked

I see no guards at the entry.

Our young birds wish to catch worms

But they never leave their nests early.

Nuns are a ghost in our land

Our young women refuse to be like the Virgin Mary

I see old men digging graves

To rest their young bones.

They watered the bush

That kept the eggs of a python.

Now they watch their toddlers die of poison.
