Stand Strong

It’s getting cold out here,

Noses running wet and sick,

Eyes itchy and red, throats sore,

Everybody’s scared…

Death’s crawling down the street.

Social Distance, hands off your face: Don’t touch, don’t drive, don’t walk, Stay home. Home. Only place safe.

Wash your hands.

Scrub them.

May be use sand.

Everybody’s scared…

Death’s crawling down the street.

Can I breathe for a beat…

Kick dust in the wind for a minute, Run free in the streets for a minute.

Whistle to the tunes of the life for moment?

Brain feels locked,

Borders locked. World Clock locked.

Total lock down… Everything’s locked.

Can I hug the ones I love?

Can I hold their hands out in the sun for a day?

Keep your distance, hands off your face: Don’t touch, don’t drive, don’t walk, Stay home. Home. Only place safe.

Wash your hands.

Scrub them.

May be use sand.

Everybody’s scared…

Death’s crawling down the street.

No. I refuse.

I refuse to let go of hope.

I will hold on to faith and love,

I will hold on to self and family,

I will hold to health,

I will hold on to courage I will hold onto life.
